Little Chefs Chicago is a nonprofit youth organization in Chicago that centers cooking, nutrition, and practical life skills. Our programs create safe, structured spaces where young people, especially those connected to family group homes, learn responsibility, teamwork, and confidence while preparing real meals. We pair every cooking session with mentoring and social-emotional learning so youth gain support for both daily life and long term goals. Learn how our approach strengthens youth and families together.
Founded in 2020, Little Chefs Chicago grew out of a clear need for safe, enriching programs for youth facing instability. Leaders, caregivers, and community partners recognized that many young people in group home and similar settings lacked consistent, practical support. Kitchens became our classrooms, and shared meals became a doorway to trust, healing, and real-world skills. Discover how our nonprofit roots and community partnerships continue to shape every program we offer today.
Each year, more youth gain essential skills in our kitchens, mentoring circles, and family workshops. Participants learn to cook healthy meals, manage money, work in teams, and lead projects that benefit their neighborhoods. Caregivers and group home staff access parenting support, counseling, and advocacy that strengthen home environments. As an accredited 501(c)(3) in Illinois nonprofit networks, we remain accountable for real outcomes. Explore ways your support can expand our reach and deepen this impact.
